[ES] Walther cuestiona la condición del objeto artístico ante la historia del arte. A través de la producción de objetos participativos, esculturas en tela y el propio cuerpo, expande la definición del arte y su relación con los públicos. Para el artista, el arte posee un carácter inmaterial y performativo, de manera que el cuerpo, el tiempo y el espacio se convierten en materiales escultóricos, y hay un compromiso individual, físico y mental del espectador y el artista en el momento de encontrarse con las obras.

Las activaciones, actividades complementarias dotan de dinamismo a la muestra. La acción se completa con los materiales que utiliza para dar sentido al objeto y así llegar hasta el público por medio del cuerpo. Junto al tiempo y al espacio aúna dichos elementos y modela su discurso dando paso a prácticas artísticas como la escultura y la instalación.

Activation of works

[ENG] Walther questions the condition of the artistic object in art history. Through the production of participatory objects, canvas sculptures and the own body, Walther expands the definition of art and its relationship with audiences. For the artist, art has an immaterial and performative character, so that the body, time and space become sculptural materials, and there is an individual, physical and mental commitment of the spectator and the artist in the moment of meeting with the works.

The activations, complementary activities gives dynamism to the show. The action is completed with the materials used to give meaning to the object and thus reach the public through the body. Together with time and space, he combines these elements and models his discourse giving way to artistic practices such as sculpture and installation.

[ES] La serie Handlungsstücke (Obras de acción) es definida por el artista como “demostraciones de trabajo” llevadas a cabo por actores formados para ello por el propio artista. Para el artista los materiales son un punto de partida vital para desarrollar sus acciones y en este caso las telas simbolizan el arte y la vida. Las texturas, el color y las costuras mismas hacen que como espectadores se sumerjan en un paraíso lleno de posibilidades dado que no nos llevan a la idea de un objeto acabado.

La activación que lleva a cabo Walther no se debe interpretar en un sentido performativo pues la acción y el movimiento no están pensados para una audiencia; cuando se activan las piezas, la acción implica un momento de presentación, no de representación.

[ENG] The serie Handlungsstücke (Action works) is defined by the artist as "demonstrations of work" performed by actors trained by the the artist himself. For the artist the materials are a vital starting point for developing their actions and in this case the fabrics symbolize art and life. The textures, the color and the seams themselves make as spectators immerse themselves in a paradise full of possibilities since they do not take us to the idea of a finished object.

Walther's activation should not be interpreted in a performative sense as the action and the movement are not intended thought for an audience; When the pieces are activated, the action implies a moment of presentation, not representation.
