[ENG] IV Action Art Congress

Acción Spring (t) is a meeting point where renowned artists, researchers, national and international university professors, as well as young artists and researchers, meet to create a debate around action art and its relationship with the academic and professional world.
Working days in which activities take place that combine practice and thinking in those the research work of doctoral students and doctorates with the consolidated trajectories of artists and teachers.
It is about sharing, thinking and reflect on the need and the interest in action art within the Fine Arts faculty. However, the field of action art has multiple implications in the current art situation, inside and outside the University, and in this sense the points of view goes beyond the particular needs in the context of the University.
The coexistence with the actions and the multidirectional character make performance an object of study from the fine arts, but also from theater, dance, literature or music, and all of them have their place in this congress

In a fluid way, the object is to convert everyday gestures and acts into a participatory sound experience as a strategy for the realization of sensitive sound artistic situations (taste / smell / hearing) transforming a space of the faculty into an Action, a multi-sensory artistic experience. The edible elements used produce sounds which are electronically processed generating preformative pieces turning them into a sound and visual score extended over time, thus offering an invitation to listen, wait and taste. Stressing that any act with the precise artistic intention becomes art and that everyday actions can also be felt as a sublime act.
Action related to our daily and social life. The important thing is not what is tasted, but what really happens during that shared tasting. Situation that allows us to relax at the same time that it activates us cognitively and sensorially, by carrying out an activity, focused on promoting internal and relational dialogue. Distribute the food used during the session among those present, ending the action in a community act

[ENG] Theoretical reflection on action art

There is a growing interest in this discipline in the academic field that, from practice and theory, engage different approaches to be able to build a contextual framework that reflects a state of the theoretical-critical investigation of the language of action art.

The action and its intersections: Through the presentation of works: actions, conferences and round tables, it is proposed how the art of action, from very different approaches and positions, can go beyond the limits of what is established, generate an aesthetic discourse beyond of antagonisms. Among other issues, the nature of action art, its hybrid character and how this practice evolves to incorporate strategies from theater and contemporary music, video art, dance. It focuses on the analysis and reflection on the new behaviors of the art of action, both from practice and from theoretical reflection, trying to articulate hypotheses that help us to delve into a language that is still in force and evolving.

The call is open to artists, theorists and students, who will be able to publicly present their research on action art from an open position that presents multiple perspectives. To provoke reflections on the possible intersections between action art and the social and political context, paying special attention from a gender perspective, feminist theory and queer art. That is why Acción Spring (t) brings together a wide spectrum of thoughts on the place of the present body in contemporary art, different methodologies of image creation from the performative experience or proposals for collective creation.
