8.026km. hace referencia a la distancia entre Madrid y Houston, cuenta con el trabajo de doce artistas emergentes de España. La exposición se estructura en un formato libre alrededor de la noción de un viaje transformador en el cual los objetos creados por los artistas fueron embalados y enviados ocasionalmente vía sobres no acolchados y cajas frágiles no acuerdo con los protocolos habituales utilizados al enviar obras de arte. Las piezas de la exposición quedan así sujetas al desgaste de los viajes intercontinentales, llegando quizá a su destino rotos, deteriorados o alterados de algún otro modo. Es sólo al llegar a este estado transformado que se convierten en obras de arte. |
8.026km., which references the distance between Madrid and Houston, features the work of twelve emerging artists from Spain. The exhibition is loosely structured around the notion of a transformative journey in which the objects created by the artists were casually packed and shipped via unpadded envelopes and flimsy boxes in a manner not in keeping with the normal protocols used when shipping one-of-a-kind artworks. The pieces in the exhibition thus become subject to the wear and tear of intercontinental travel, perhaps arriving at their destination broken, torn, or otherwise altered. It is only upon arrival in this tranformed state that they become works of art. |

| Algunas personas piensan que vivir es como un viaje, en el que tenemos un solo destino: la muerte. Este viaje hace de nosotros mismos lo que somos. Somos lo que somos, pero no es siempre lo que pensamos que somos. Cuando dejamos esta vida y estamos a punto de morir, nos convertimos en lo que realmente somos. Así, las piezas de esta exposición están diseñadas-concebidas para llegar a este destino, en un viaje que les convierten en los que son: obras de arte. El nexo de todas las obras es el propio viaje. Los artistas trabajan con un elemento como el azar, y sin tener control sobre él. El recorrido de sus obras. Estos objetos dejarán este país como objetos ordinarios, pero cuando llegan, serán obras de arte, porque están ahí. En el punto final El viaje de 8.046 kilometros, en el que se convierten en obras de arte. Esta distancia los define. Este es el propósito principal de la exposición: una colección de obras de arte al llegar al punto final. El viaje es parte del proceso creativo. Al igual que en la vida humana, el viaje es parte del proceso creativo para llegar a ser lo que somos. Y, de hecho, estoy segura de que todos nosotros en el final de esta vida seremos también, obras de arte. | Some people think that life is a journey, in which we have just one single destination: death. This trip makes us be what we are. We are what we are, but not always what we think we are. When we leave this life and we are about to die, we become what we really are. So, the pieces in this exhibition are designed-conceived to reach this destination, in a journey that will make them what they are: works of art. The nexus between all works is the journey itself. The artists work with an random element, and without having control over it. The expedition of these works. These objects will leave this country as ordinary objects, but when they arrive, they will be works of art, because they are there. In the end point The journey of 8046 km, which they become works of art. This distance defines them. This is the main purpose of the exhibition: a collection of works of art getting to the endpoint. The trip is part of the creative process. As in human life, the journey is part of the creative process to become what we are.
