[ENG] In this visual and sonorous narration I follow the traces of my mother, Ulla Kruse, to give her voice and reconstruct her personal history, without any adornment. Dedicate myself to observe my ancestors and pay them homage from the humility of everyday life.
My mother was one of the first generations of women professionally emancipated and liberated in Sweden, distant from the Mediterranean culture and traditions, in contrast to the Spanish patriarchal society of that time.
The title Ensamlandet (The Lonely land) refers to the narratives lived by my mother and the narrated by Ingrid Bergman in the film Stromboli land of God, directed by Roberto Rossellini: incomprehension and incommunication of the foreigner in a desolate land, hard and oblivious to her.
Interpreting (almost living) her experience to expose the cultural shock between the so-called Nordic modernity versus the situation in Spain in the sixties, using as a vehicle the Swedish myth.
This work marks a turning point in the personal artistic trajectory and in particular in the current doctoral research on the Swedish woman as an alternative model for transformation and social action, acquiring a more intimate and introspective approach, when working in an autobiographical way on my own family history.
